Ugg Mosaic black boots are no longer made but the boot that replaced them in the Ugg Australia boot line more than makes up for the loss of this style.

Ugg Mosaic black boots can no longer be found at most online boot dealers. You might be able to find a pair on Ebay but that’s a hit or miss kind of deal due to limited sizes available and rareness of the style. They seem to run around the $170 range for most Buy It Now auctions. There are a few pairs of Mosaic ugg boots for women in the color orchid still available at Bootbay at the time of this writing. They are priced around $130 with free shipping. (As of 10-1-2010 they are not there anymore. Bootbay is still a good place to check for Uggs though. You can try Boot Barn too but they don't have a lot to chose from. Mostly they sell the classic Uggs and a few odds and ends.

The boot that most closely replaces the Mosaic is the Sunset. This is a more tailored ugg boot that while it shares the same shaft size of 12”, and same sole pattern it does differ in regards to circumference. The Mosaic has a 15” circumference while the Sunset is a 14”. However, the Sunset also has a side zipper, which can be pretty handy for getting in and out of the footwear. The shaft of the Mosaic has a single stitched quilt pattern on its shaft while the Sunset does not. The Mosaic also tends to run slightly wider and is a little bulkier while the Sunset is sleeker and goes better with jeans.

If you have a wider foot or a high instep, you might need a larger size than normal in the Sunset. Most people get a smaller size than their normal size when they buy uggs but in this particular model because it’s fitted more snuggly, allowances may need to be made. Check with you online boot retailer for help in getting the correct size. The other thing you can try is a different model. The Ultra, Ultimate and Brooks uggs fit a bit wider yet still snug enough to wear in any condition. In fact these boots tend to be better on ice and snow due to their superior tread design. The tread on the Sunset is fine for everything else but is definitely not great for slippery conditions because it doesn’t have the lug sole the other boots have.
