Are you not sure if military style engineer boots even
exist? I’ve seen something close.
There are some boots that resemble military style engineer boots
but I guess it’s up to personal interpretation. The closest
thing I’ve seen is what’s called a tanker boot style
produced by Double H. This looks like a typical combat style boot
but has a double strap and buckle closure wrapping around it instead
of laces. This enables the wearer to get in and out of the boot
very fast. Also it should be noted these usually have more tread
than a motorcycle type engineer boot will have.
Another boot that can resemble a military engineer boot is a
jump boot. This boot can sometimes be designed with a belt around
the instep like a typical engineer boot. However, most often they
do not have such a belt. This boot actually has hardly any tread
and a very hard rubber outsole. That’s similar to what you
typically find on an engineer styled boot. Double H makes a good
one of these boots in mens and womens sizes.
Depending on your taste, the Harley Davidson Company actually
makes some boots that resemble military boots with some engineer
boot elements thrown in. The Faded Glory for men is probably the
closest. This is an extremely popular 8-inch boot with a belt
over the instep and a Goodyear rubber welt outsole. The Night
Shift boot is more engineer than military boot. It sports several
buckles and belts plus a very thick sole. You won’t be running
around in this. You’ll be walking. And last to check out
would be the Harley Davidson Fargo boot. It’s a lace-up
and belt combination boot.
I suggest you check out
BootBay for a better idea of what the most popular boot brands
offer in these types of boots. You can find the Harley and Double
H boots mentioned above here at good prices and free shipping.
