When it comes to unusual leather, the Lucchese exotics
cowboy boot line is near perfect.
Lucchese exotics come in many different leathers for men and
women under two distinct categories, the Classics and the 2000
series. The Classics are basic cowboy western boots like they
have been making since the Lucchese cowboy boot company started
in the 1880s. The 2000 series have been upgraded to the 21st century
with the introduction of a 4-layer footbed. This makes for a more
comfortable boot and was requested by customers moving into the
new millennium. This tech is similar to Ariat’s footbed
technology.
The array of unusual skins offered by Lucchese western boots
is staggering. I’m not sure of any other manufacturer who
offers such a wide assortment other than maybe Tony Lama cowboy
boots, which I also recommend. (Dan Post, Justin and Nocona also
offered superior exotics but don’t offer the assortment
in skins Lucchese does.) Some of the Classic leather and skins
offered are: Buffalo, Elephant, Ostrich, Kangaroo, Lizard, Alligator,
Crocodile, Sting Ray, Horn Back Caiman, Goat and Calf. In the
2000 series you will find leather made from African Elephant,
American Buffalo, Ostrich, and Navigator leather. (It should be
noted that many of the exotic leathers are received through conservation
programs and some of the sale proceeds are reinvested into various
Game-Park programs.)
If you want a snakeskin cowboy boot, Luchese boots is an excellent
place to start looking. This a relatively common exotic offered
but Lucchese makes them stand out from other boot manufacturers
with their superior quality and craftsmanship. I particular like
model T3006. This is a very sharp Rattlesnake boot many men like.
So if you are looking for an American made leather boot with
a custom cowboy boot appearance but not the custom boot price,
look over the Lucchese cowboy western boot lines and you’ll
like what you find.
