For over 50 years Chippewa motorcycle boots have supplied motorcyclists
with classically styled, durable and high performance motorcycle
boots that will surpass any cheap Harley Davidson boot.
Chippewa has been making boots since 1901, which is just a few
years before Harley Davidson delivered their first motorcycle.
However, Chippewa boots has been making motorcycle style boots
that are specific to the motoring lifestyle years before Harley
Davidson motorcycle boots were added to their clothing merchandise
line. Chippewa knows what bikers need and want in a motorcycle-riding
boot.
Premium oiled leather that is waxed to be made water resistant
is used in the manufacture of Chippewa motorcycle riding boots.
Vibram soles and Goodyear Welted Construction are used to make
their motorcycle boot’s thick soles and maintain their high
quality standards. These boots are not glued. They are stitched
together for durability and so they can be resoled. Harley Davidson
boots, which are made by Wolverine boots, don’t seem to
have the same quality in my opinion. They appear overall to be
okay but not great boots. However, they have been improving rapidly
over the last few years. And quality does differ from model to
model and can depend on price. The HD boot styling appears trendier
and I personally prefer a more classic style engineer or logger
boot than one with lots of logos and flames. That’s one
reason why in my opinion Chippewa is superior.
Basically if you buy a Chippewa you know you have boots for motorcycle
riding that you can keep for life if you wish. The craftsmanship
that goes into these leather motorcycle-riding boots will not
be found in cheap motorcycle footwear. We feel some Harley Davidson
boots are questionable as to their durability plus you will probably
pay more for their name.
