The classic look and function of the biker engineer motorcycle
boot continues to appeal to riders all over the world and
the boot that best suits your need is waiting for you to find
it online.
The biker engineer motorcycle boot has a look that just draws
you in. It’s rugged and masculine and has the appropriate
attitude men and women want in a motorcycle boot. And if you should
ever need protection against the road or elements, you can be
confident these boots will do the job. They are made with high
quality thick leather and come with tough fat soles on all brands
and models.
The 11” leather engineer boot is usually the standard shaft
size you see the boot in. But some riders prefer a much taller
boot. Mens tall engineer boots can range up to 20”, which
is to the bend in the knee. The 18” size is more what you
would see worn by the CHP or motor patrol officers. If you want
a size in between, it won’t be hard to find either. I’ve
seen tall engineer boots that look like stovepipe or Calvary boots
come with shafts sizes from 11,14,15,16,17,18,19 and 20 inches.
(It should be noted that if you do end up ordering tall boots
online, you should probably get them a little shorter in shaft
size than you originally thought. Boots will often change sizing
once they are worn in. As they soften up your foot will tend to
sink further into them. So if you had a 20” boot that you
expect to meet with the bend of your knee, it could end up being
too long. Not good.)
Wesco makes the most intense and gnarly looking boots. They often
come with thick Vibram lug soles. Their boots are insane but also
expensive for a lot of people. You’re looking at spending
around $320 to $450 for these tremendous boots. Most are custom
made. They make custom boots with some reaching a height of 38”.
I don’t think those are so much for riding motorcycles as
for some other purpose.
Chippewa makes some great engineer boots like the Trooper and
Odessa Rally styles. These come with Vibram soles and you get
them in steel toe models as well. Other manufacturers of good
biker engineer and harness style boots are Georgia, Carolina,
Double-H, Durango and Harley Davidson. Each of these brands offers
some good boots and many will be similar in look. You can’t
go wrong with any of them.
