Is there an Ariat mens western boot in your future?
You can get an Ariat mens western boot in at least 8 different
styles. There are the Cobalt Pros, Crepes, Exotics, Ropers, Lacers,
Classic Western, Endurance and casual series to look over. Surely
one of these excellent quality boots will be what you are seeking
in comfort and performance. A cowboy will find any Ariat boot
to be a perfect fit for his needs. It should be noted that all
models come in men and women’s sizes too.
The Cobalt Pro models are designed for the professional rider.
They are traditional looking men’s western boots that are
all about performance and comfort. These feature Ariat’s
finest Cobalt technology for excellent foot bed cushioning. The
outsole is designed to track less dirt around and the toe is a
W-toe in profile.
The Crepe series are basically great solid cowboy work boots.
The main difference between them and say the Cobalt Pro is the
thick rubber crepe outsole. Some people favor this durable and
abrasion resistant sole for it is said it is more comfortable
for longer periods of standing.
The Ariat Exotic boots consist of the different boot models featuring
Klein Karoo Ostrich leather. You can get smooth or full quill
ostrich boots in the Cobalt Pro and Crepe series. These boots
again feature Cobalt technology and W-toe profiles in an 11-inch
boot.
Ropers are considered a traditional western work boot. You can
get an Ariat roper in full quill ostrich skin as well as regular
leather. These boots have less of a hard cowboy boot profile and
support a flatter heel. There is only one style within in the
ropers for women but men have 4 to choose from.
The Lacers by Ariat are lace up boots with an antique western
appeal to them. I personally don’t get the appeal. I think
they are ugly and other boots would better serve my purpose. However,
some people like them. More women than men buy them, which is
why more models are offered to women. Note: There is no size double
E in this boot type.
Classic Western boots in the Ariat line are just that. They feature
the added comfort of the Ariat ATS gel pad system. This is a 4-layer
rebound footbed with forged steel shank and Duratread outsole.
Depending on the model you choose there are R-toes, W-toes and
some J-toes offered. I prefer the more rounded R-toes and W-toes
to the J-toes because I think they are more practical in most
applications. The pointed J-toes are intense.
The Endurance boots like the Ariat Terrain are still considered
western riding boots by Ariat. They look like a hiking boot but
a lot of equestrian concepts went into their design. The uppers
are made of Cordura, which is durable and lightweight. The footbed
is made up of the ATS system that is designed to relieve foot
stress in the saddle or on the ground. They were created with
riding in mind but you could use them for a short hike too.
Finally the Ariat mens casual shoe and boots series sports everything
from the cowboy Spot Hog to several tennis shoe type models. Most
of Ariat’s casual shoes for men look vaguely like Blundstone
boots. They are short quick pull on boots. However, the Ariat
boots are more comfortable then the Blundstones. Blundstones have
nothing in the footbed while Ariat casual shoes and boots use
ATS technology. The ATS system is better unless you don’t
mind spending time rubbing your sore feet like you have to after
wearing Blundstones for a couple hours. I’ll take an Ariat
mens casual shoe or boot any day over having to deal with that.
