Ariat Fatbaby boots are stubby funny looking boots but these Fat baby cowboy boots are winning over everyone that wears them.

The Ariat Fatbaby has been said to be the kind of boot that grows on you. Some people don’t know what to think of them until they put them on. Once they wear them, they love them. These fun leather boots for women sport an ostrich or gator print lowers and fun leather uppers. There are also plain lowers available.

Fatbabys come in about 11 color variations. Pink, black, mocha, brown, red, and blue are just some. Plus these color schemes are combined in some models. The fatbaby has a lug sole and has been compared to Dr. Martens. However, they have a more western design and women like them better than Martens because they are lighter in weight.

Luckily they go with skirts, jeans, shorts and I saw a girl in Malibu, California wear them with a bikini and cowboy hat. (I wish a had a picture of that. It was quite striking. She must have been an actress.) Many people in the Zappos boot reviews describe them as their favorite boot. They also fit great for wide feet and high insteps. Plus there is often no break period needed for many people.

These are fashion boots and not really for riding horseback. The lug soles could end up being a bit sticky in the stirrups. Also, some people did say the strap in the back of the boot could be rough on your skin. Best to put tape on it or on your skin until it gets worn in. I had this problem with some Dr. Martens one time. I put some thick Dupont tape just above my heel. Put my socks over that and eventually wore the boots in so I didn’t get chaffed anymore. Worked great.

Be aware the boot might run wider. Get your usual size. Also, Ariat fat baby boots might feel different because they are more open at the top. Expect them to feel different if you are use to lace-ups or regular cowboy boots.
