Eliminate potential
injury and sore aching feet with men’s steel-toed work
boots from Wolverine, Red Wing, Lacrosse, Carolina and other
top work boot manufacturers.
If
more people wore good quality men’s steel-toed work boots,
the 120,000 accidental foot injuries suffered by workers each
year would go down. The majority of these injuries are due to
poor quality cheap work boots. Because you only get one pair of
feet in a lifetime, it’s important to treat them respectfully.
You’ll receive quality protection and comfort by purchasing
work boots from manufacturers like Wolverine, Danner, Redwing
or Lacrosse boots. Wolverine and Lacrosse work boots have different
models that can handle any specific hazard you may encounter in
your work place. Look online for boots that offer protection from
snow, splash, sparks, electrical dangers or other work related
hazards.
I prefer a steel toe work boot in most working situations as
compared to a composite toe work boot or safety toe. The composite
toe boots will be lighter but if you are moving heavy items like
I do, the steel toe just gives you that extra vote of confidence.
Once you’ve dropped an 80-pound speaker cabinet on your
foot with a safety toe and then later on a steel toe you’ll
know what I mean. Now of course you can’t use a steel toe
boot in certain electrical situations because they can conduct
electricity but I personally am not in those types of situations.
Now days no matter what work conditions you are in you kind find
the best work boots for those conditions. And I must stress again
to spend money on better quality boots. I have a pair of Lacrosse
work boots that I love. They are so comfortable I wear them like
they were tennis shoes. And the construction is so much better
than the cheap boots I bought earlier. The crappy boots cost me
$40 while I paid around $120 for the Lacrosse boots but there
really isn’t much comparison. My feet are very happy indeed.
Women’s steel toe work boots made by the best work boot
manufacturers are also available. Now women can get work boots
that fit correctly rather than purchase men’s boots just
because they were the only ones available.
Below I’ve listed some online work boot dealers. I’ve
reviewed them and noted what you can expect to find at each in
order to save you time and money in your search. Several offer
free shipping and clearances, closeouts or other sales.

Bootbay.com
- Steel Toed Work Boots. Free Shipping!
Great site for serious work boots with steel toes
or composites. Large selection of men and women’s
work boots can be found here. Always a few things on sale
too. Top brands like Carolina, Caterpillar, Chippewa,
Danner, Dr. Martens, Dunham, Frye, Georgia, Lacrosse,
Rockport, Rocky, Thorogood, Timberland and Wolverine
are featured here. Always free shipping and prices are
competitive. I find their menus pretty easy to navigate
but when you click the “work boot” category
you have to look at a million boots. It’s easier
once you know what brand you want. The category selections
are good too. You won’t find too many boots that
aren’t real work boots under the “work boot”
category.
Zappos.com
- Timberland Pro Work boots and Free Shipping!
They also have a big selection of men and women’s
work boots or all types but their category bugs men. They
tend to have more fashion/hiking/work boots or what I
would call work sport boots here. Many models of Timberland
Pro, Dickies, Georgia, Caterpillar, Sketchers, and Chippewa
can be found here. If you want the real deal, you may
have to search longer to sift through the pseudo work
boots to find the real work specific boots. The always
offer free shipping and great
customer service plus many sales during certain
off-season times. There are so many boots on sale at the
time of this writing I can’t list them here. I saw
quite a few reduced 40% - 50%. Off-season
for work boots seems to be more the summer time. If you
can hold off to get boots in the summer, you’ll
get better deals.
Shoes.com
- Dr. Martens Work Boots. Free Shipping!
The work boot selection here features many of
the same type styles and brands that Zappos has. Lots
of Dr. Martens for women and men are
on this site as well as Timberland, Wolverine,
John Deere, Caterpillar, Sketchers, and Hi Tec.
Again as with Zappos I feel many of the models are more
of a work sport boot category. Not too many boots I would
wear in a serious working environment. But there are a
few and if you aren’t looking for a heavy-duty work
boot this is a good place to look. It’s easy to
separate safety toe boots from non-safety toe boots because
Shoes.com divides the work boot category up by these two
types. Shoes.com offers sales at times
and always free shipping. At the time
of this writing they had a women’s slip resistant
Wolverine work boot for $30 marked down from $83. They
also had a men’s steel toe Dr. Martens work
boot for $85 marked down from $120. Including
free shipping this works out to be a pretty good deal.
US
Cavalry - Best Alternative Work Boots.
This site doesn’t carry work boots per
say but it carries more military, tactical, or combat
boots. Many have steel toes and some
people might prefer these boots to regular work boots.
These guys have Belleville, HRT, Rocky, Danner,
Altama, Original Swat, Bates, Magnum, Corcoran and Matterhorn
boots mainly. Prices are pretty good but some
stay higher because you can’t get these boots any
place else. On occasion you will find discounts on certain
pairs of boots. If you are curious, I suggest you take
a look here. It’s a good site with a lot of cool
equipment as well as boots.
