It seems that many people are finally figuring out how great it feels to put on ugg Australian boots instead of other footwear. Now days there are lots of variations and styles of ugg and sheep skin boots to choose from that weren’t available in the ‘70s. The standard sand ugg classic tall boots as well as the short boots are still around but now you can get lots of other colors. Ugg Australia, which is a USA owned company and probably the most famous brand, makes pink, light blue, black, navy, white and lilac ugg boots to name a few. They also make models with lug type soles and fur trimming.

Men’s ugg boots by Ugg Australia are easy to find. The women’s models can be tough because they are so popular and many dealers can’t keep them in stock long. Ugg Australia got very high marks for quality in a recent test done by an Australian magazine. However, there are other sheep skin and ugg style boots that are very good as well. Emu Ridge of Australia footwear made my uggs and I love them.

It should be noted there is currently an ugg boot trademark battle going on. The term “ugg” is a generic Australian term for the ugly sheep skin boots. But Deckers, who own Ugg Australia, are fighting to own and trademark the term. So it can be a bit confusing when you are shopping to find these boots. If it says “ugg” on the back of the heel, then those are the Ugg Australia boots. Most other brands have different labels. Mainly what you should look for is the 100% sheep skin boots if you want the real deal. Many brands use suede leather on the outside and a sheep wool inside. These are fine. In fact I think my Emu Ridge boots are like that because they were cheap ugg boots. The 100% sheep skin models tend to be pricier.
