My first pair of Hi Tec hiking boots was great but I think I should have bought Salomon hiking boots or Iowa hiking boots instead of my second pair of Hi Tec boots.

I really liked my black Hi Tec hiking boots that I bought about 7 years ago. But now I think I would have been better served if I had bought a pair of Salomon hiking boots or Iowa hiking boots because my new Hi Tec hiking boots are hurting my feet. I tried to find the same boots or something similar for the same price but you know how it goes. Boot models change each year and you can never seem to go back to the original pair you like. And instead of spending the extra money and picking up the Salomon hiking boots or the Iowa hiking boots, I tried to go to a cheap hiking boot by the same brand. It didn’t work out.

My first pair of Hi Tec hiking boots I found for a little under $50 at a hiking boot sale. They were cheaper than either the Salomon hiking boots or the Iowa hiking boots. I just lucked out because these all leather hiking boots just felt great. And they have held up well through the years. However, my new Hitec hiking boots were about $25 and I got them at a hiking boot sale also. They are not all leather but some kind of nylon material. And these new boots aren’t even waterproof like the old ones were. However, The biggest problem is after having them for a year and having broken them in, they still hurt my feet like a son of a gun. I can’t wear them for more than an hour or two. And it really sucks because the traction they deliver on a hillside is very good. But it doesn’t matter because it ends up killing my feet to wear them.

Well, I guess the long and short of it is, spend the extra money and get either a new all leather Hi Tec hiking boot or a Salomon hiking boot or even Iowa hiking boot. Nine times out of ten you’ll get what you pay for and there isn’t anything worse than getting a cheap pair of hiking boots that hurts your feet. I’ll never do it again.
